| About IIAP
|
|
Welcome to Peruvian Amazon Research Institute (IIAP). IIAP
is a Peruvian institution which is focused on scientific and technological
research for development and sustainable use of biodiversity in the amazonian
region.
Our work extends by all the geographic scope of Peruvian
Amazon basin, which means 760,000 km2, about 60% of the country's territory.
IIAP´s main seat is located in Loreto's region and counts with other offices in
the main amazonian regions of Peru. For more information please visit our

Our mission is to contribute to improve the quality of life
of amazonian society through the investigation toward the sustainable
development and the conservation of the natural resources of the amazonian
region. Our vision is to be the knowledge reference center in Peruvian
Amazonía, with capacity to give high quality technical directions for the
conservation and sustainable use of natural resources.

Our research system is based on four programs, that works on
the development of scientific knowledge, technologies, products and
methodologies adapted for the sustainable use of the resources and the Peruvian
amazonian territory.

We offer diverse services to national and international
organizations, companies and researchers. Our services are related with
investigation and specialized studies of amazonian resources and society,
technological transference, as well as with knowledge management.

We implement projects in the Amazonian region, focused on
research, development and conservation issues, in cooperation with national and
